It's been nearly 2 1/2 years since I found myself thrust into a journey of inner-transformation.
It's been 2 years to the day since I realized that alcohol wasn't serving my highest good and I kissed it goodbye.
It's been 1 year since I entered a season of turning inward with personal growth way down deep at the roots.
I have had so little to give.
It's been 1 month since I felt the beginnings of little green shoots emerging - sparks of creativity and a nudge to begin sharing have felt like a breath of fresh air and sunshine to my soul.
I am coming to the surface.
In 2019 my word for the year was NOURISH. It was all about letting go of all that isn't true and finding my true self underneath it all. To still the mind and listen to the soul. To be nourished by simply living from the inside out.
I embodied that word. 2019 was full of teachings and hard lessons.
I took off so many masks I'd worn for most of my life and set them down for good. I got to know ME and become content with who I am.
My word for 2020 came to me during meditation in a conversation with my soul.
DISTILL.
More of less.
This is about laying down even more to get to the few things that mean the most.
It's about doing those few things that breathe life into me MORE.
It's about letting go of trying to be all the things I'm not and embracing what makes me ME.
For so long, it's been more, more, more and less is more. It's been a teeter-totter of decluttering and never enough.
Not anymore.
Now it's MORE of LESS.
A life distilled.
