words on confidence

December 05, 2017 in authenticity

Confidence has never come easy for me. I think that’s true for most people. Can I get an amen?!

We fake it til we make make it.

We do it scared!

We lean into the fear and the discomfort and find we survive.

We find that we did it.

We grow and it gets easier.

We find new things that feel outside our comfort zone.

We do the thing and the confidence follows.

I have a long way to go with confidence. Even posting this is hard for me, honestly! I pick myself apart and find a million reasons why I shouldn’t post this picture or talk about these thoughts. Who am I to talk about this anyway? I think about why I’m not enough. I lie to myself.

None of us are perfect. Not one of us has it all together. Not even the ones who look like they do! FB can make our lives sparkle and shine, but we all have struggles we face and things that make us feel small.

Y’all. I refuse to play small. I refuse to shrink to make others more comfortable. I have a lot to offer and keeping it to myself helps no one.

Our gifts are meant to be shared.

We were born to do great things - each and every one of us. It’s never an easy path to grow into our greatest self, but it is so worth it. You are so worth it.

Do one thing today that scares you. Grow and lean in. The confidence will come!

Let that light shine!

Oh, and tell the haters to hush. 😉 They aren’t your tribe anyway.
